TPA Poland’s experts and Baker Tilly TPA’s advisors have once again been honored by the real estate industry. The award in the Tax & Financial Adviser category during the 13th CEE Retail Awards went to specialists from the tax and financial teams.
The finale of this year’s edition had a unique formula, as it was held online. The panel discussion and gala were broadcast on March 3-4, 2021.
“2020 was a peculiar year – for the real estate industry as well. You can see a lot of changes in the retail market. Interest in shopping centers has declined, but smaller retail parks and warehouse space serving e-commerce have gained in importance. Alternative forms of investing, as well as other forms of commercial investment financing, recorded an increase in popularity. It seems that this trend may yet deepen, and will certainly stay with us for longer. The sector will also be affected by the retail sales tax which has just been introduced,” said Małgorzata Dankowska, Partner heading the Warsaw tax practice and the real estate team at TPA Poland.
This year’s difficult situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic impacted not only the investors pursuing their deals, but also the advisors overseeing their proper execution. This makes awards such as this an even more important guarantee of quality.

It is worth mentioning that the Tax & Financial Adviser award is given by an independent jury, which includes the key representatives of the industry, including, among others, the leading investors and developers. This jury selected and awarded persons, institutions and projects that were characterized by the highest value, unique quality or considerable scale last year.
